We are named for Mylapore, the old quarter of Chennai where the streets around the temple fill each morning with flower sellers, filter coffee and the smell of breakfast being made. That is the food we cook: South Indian home cooking, made the way it is made there.
Everything is prepared to order. We grind our own masalas, ferment our own batter, and cook in small batches through the day rather than holding food under lamps. Nothing leaves our kitchens that we would not serve at our own table.
Our menus follow the season and the festival calendar, so what is available changes through the year.
We prepare food at several locations: restaurants, dedicated kitchens, and pickup points. The menu you see, the prices, and the delivery options available to you depend on which of our locations can serve your address, so the first thing our site asks for is where you are.
Everyday menu: dosai, idli, rice plates, curries, breads and sweets, available for delivery or collection
Meal boxes: complete meals packed to travel well
Kitchen programmes: prepaid meal plans delivered across a set cycle, for people who would rather not decide every day
Events: festival menus and occasional ticketed evenings
Our food is prepared in shared kitchens that handle milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans and sesame. We cannot guarantee that any item is free from any allergen. If you have an allergy, please call us on (925) 238-3736 before ordering and we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot do.
